Our own little Junior Masterchef

When the first program of the fantastic Junior Masterchef Australia aired on TV, I made Daniel watch it with me in the hope it would lead to some inspiration in the kitchen (since he won’t really see his mother whip up incredibly looking dishes, we must take inspiration where we can). Only problem is, Daniel’s first copied action from the program was to judge my food in a proper George Calombaris voice!!

But be careful what you wish for, because in the next week he drove me mad wanting to take over dinner duties! So, we gave him some ice-cream, Nutella, nougat biscuits, strawberries, sprinkles and raisins to “create” his own dessert! It tasted better than what it looked like
J!

He then made shortbread biscuits for his uncle as a birthday present.

From his “I can cook” book, he made us tomato spirals. You can see the recipe here. It was the perfect recipe for a five year old, but the end result was not nearly as “photogenic” as Katie’s versionJ, but we ate every single piece of it! There might still be hope for this family!!
